Computer Support Call – Hillside

Client Name: Barbera

Suburb: Hillside

Issues: Barbera’s PC would not boot into Windows XP or Safe Mode. The error she was receiving was as follows:

c:\windows\system32\config\system missing

Problem: I arranged with Barbera to meet with her husband and see the computer. I found that the windows system registry hive had become corrupt. Possibly due to a virus or spyware program.

Resolution: The problem was solved by removing the file and replacing it with the system restores backup version. This enabled the PC to boot and a virus scan to be performed. A PC tuneup was also provided and reccomendations made to improve performance. All this was done in a single hour.
